A foil accent is any design element—logo, text or border—pressed with metallic foil instead of ink. It catches light to draw attention and signal exclusivity without overpowering the overall design.

Metal cards (stainless steel or aluminium) are ultra-durable and unforgettable, suited for industries where novelty and prestige outweigh higher costs. For most brands, thick velvet cards with foil provide similar luxury at a lighter feel.

Letterpress requires separate metal plates for each colour, precise manual setup, and slower press speeds. It’s less suited to fine gradients or photos and demands thick boards, increasing cost and lead time.

Costs come from custom metal plates, skilled press operation, and premium cotton or duplex stocks needed for a crisp impression. Each run is a handcrafted process rather than automated mass production.

True luxury cards use 100% cotton rag or boards up to 900 gsm, sometimes with wood veneer, bamboo, or metal‐leaf layers. Edges may be gilded in gold, and soft-touch coatings seal in a sumptuous hand-feel.
