Thank You cards tips
Many people underestimate the power and importance of a simple handwritten ‘Thank you’ card. We know that it can be a difficult and time-consuming process to put your thoughts on paper. To help you, we wanted to share with you 8 tips on writing your ‘Thank You’ Cards.
Make a spreadsheet listing the invitee, the gift given, and then a third column to keep some helpful notes.
Try to make your notes a little more personal, as your friends and family would much rather read something from the heart. Bring in pieces of old conversations, a common phrase or inside-joke that you might share.
Consider your relationship with the guest as you address the card, perhaps “Mr. & Mrs. Jones” for one of your mother’s friends or “Olivia” for your Maid of Honor.
Thank them for their presence at your big day. Especially call attention if they traveled a long distance or had to put in a lot of effort to attend.
Be specific when you mention the gift. For Example: “Thank you so much for the Whiskey Decanter set!”
Let them know the effect that their gift will have in your life. For example: “After our next golf trip in July, this will be the perfect way to celebrate my Win!”
Close with a phrase that’s appropriate to your relationship with the guest. In some cases, a ”Forever Thankful” would be just fine, while for closer family “With love” might be a better option.
Try your very best to get them out to guests in three months or less.
