Adult Only Wedding Wording

There are many ways to let your guests know this is an Adult Only Wedding. By using specially'-formed verbiage on your Wedding Stationery, we can ensure that your guests are clear about any rules about attendance to your big day. We can do this for the following cards:

  1. Through the RSVP card.

“We have reserved ____ seat(s) in your honor”
    ”____ number adult(s) attending”

  2. Through the Reception card.

    ”Adult reception to follow.”
“Please join us for an adult reception at five o’clock.”
”The bride and groom respectfully request that this be an adults-only reception.”
”Please celebrate with us at an adults-only reception immediately following the ceremony.”

  3. Blame it on the Venue.

“Due to limited venue space, children are welcome at the ceremony, but the reception is an adults-only affair.”
”Regrettably, our chosen venue is unable to accommodate children.”
”Due to limited venue space, adults only, please.”
”Due to restrictions at our venue, children under the age of 16 are not able to attend”

  4. Through the Envelope addressing:

One of the best ways to communicate an adult-only wedding is by properly addressing the inner envelopes of your wedding invitation.

    For example:

Addressing your inner envelopes to include children:
    John and Maria
    Sophie, Lauren, and Marcos

    or

”The Smith Family” (which) means Mum, Dad, and the child(ren) are invited.

Addressing your inner envelopes to exclude children:
”John and Maria” means specifically those named guests are invited.

  5. On your website, you can mention on your FAQs page about whether to bring children or not. For example:

    Q: Can guests bring children?

A: While we love all of the children in our lives, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adults-only event.
